holtina

Kristina groaned as she reached over to snooze her alarm, turning back over to sleep for five more minutes, which can really feel like an hour if you're tired. She snuggled her face back into Holt's chest, which smelled like boy and her coconut shampoo. His arm circled around her and he mumbled something about Kristina twerking. 'Oh god,' she thought. 'I /really/ hope he remembers that dream.'
The alarm struck back in four minutes, waking them both this time. Kristina turned on the lamp, which produced only a soft glow, so it was perfect for waking up. She forced her eyes open, which she discovered was actually painful. What? Holt pulled the blankets over his head, and she sat up. She found her jeans and a grey sweater, yanking the pants on with a bit of difficulty and pulling the sweater over her head. She noticed then that Holt was watching with squinty eyes, like he hadn't adjusted to the light. She smiled and started to leave. "Be right back, I have to pee." He stopped her with a, "wait!" She turned and blinked. "Are you pregnant?" His voice was hushed. She laughed quietly. "What? No." And she left. Holt frowned, not totally convinced.
When she returned, he was wringing his hands. "Are you sure?" She blinked. "About...?" "That you're not pregnant." She sat on the bed. "Why are you so concerned?" "You're showing signs, I mean, I saw you holding your back yesterday, and your jeans used to be too big, and you're peeing more." She brushed his hair out of his eyes. "I'm not pregnant." "We did have unprotected sex." "Wow, wasn't it great?" She smiled at the memory. "Anyway, even if I was pregnant, the new kid would love you just as much as Beth and I do." "But what if it didn't? I mean... I'm weird." Kristina laid back down and sighed. "Okay, this is going to sound like the most cliche'd thing ever, but you're not weird, you're just different. I mean, everyone's different, I'm different, Beth is different, Loreli is different. I could go on, but I won't name off everyone we know." "But I'm... a lot different." She couldn't really argue. He was a lot different, it was just a fact. She smiled at him. "Yeah. You are a lot different. And you know what? You're weird too. You're so weird." Holt was just confused now. "Wh-" "But the guys I've been with that weren't weird were assholes. They got tired of me. But you stayed with me through everything. I was this close to dying," she held her fingers about a tenth of an inch apart. "But you stayed and you kissed me and you told me you loved me even when I was bald and ugly. You've been the only one who hasn't given up on me. You're weird, but you're perfect for me. You're smart and sensible, so we balance each other out. And you're sweet and caring and the best person I know. Maybe I just like weird guys, but I don't see anything wrong with you. You're the only one I want." She stopped and kissed him. He blushed profusely. "I just feel like-" She cut him off with another kiss and he gave up, deciding it was better to kiss her back.
"Holt?"
"Mmm?"
"Making out first thing in the morning is weird... but I like it."
